Not ready for prime time BY Cedric T. Thu, 25 Apr 2013 20:56:40 -0400

Pros: The phone is fairly inexpensive and well-built. The screen, though small, is bright and easy to read. Ringtones can be customized with a little difficulty the screen with a LOT of difficulty. Cons: Buggy firmware and NO SUPPORT. The has a noticeable hiss that completely defeats the purpose of having a HD handset. If this is CNG its WAY too loud, and theres no way to turn it off or even down. Documentation of the customization features is incomplete, inaccurate, changes radically between firmware versions, and is difficult to find. Other Thoughts: I agree with pretty much everything the other reviewer said -- this phone really isnt ready for prime time. And the support or lack thereof -- WOW I opened a ticket with Grandstream about a bug in the firmware and the ticket was closed without so much as a comment. I asked about it several times in the support forums, but I didnt get a single response there either. Maybe if youre a big customer who buys a thousand phones they pay attention. Sadly for everyone else, it seems youre on your own.

Not Ready for the Enterprise BY John C. Fri, 27 Apr 2012 00:48:16 -0400

Pros: Cheap Have an RJ9 jack for headsets Great audio quality and speakerphone Cons: Poorly documented Poor support Lack critical features for enterprise use Requires a free line key to do an attended transfer Other Thoughts: For serious business use, I would not buy these again. The binary configuration tool is junk. XML configuration is almost totally undocumented they dont even supply a working example file be prepared to figure it out on your own. The built-in ringtones are totally unacceptable for business use.
